Cancer Survivor Celebration

Join us! If you currently have cancer or had it in the past, you and a guest are invited to attend our Third Annual Cancer Survivor Celebration. This free event will feature a keynote speaker plus informative presentations about wellness, survivorship and more. Breakfast and lunch included. 

Cancer 101

You’ll hear a short explanation from each specialist, receive free resources and have the opportunity to ask questions of any of these providers about cancer care.

Living with and beyond cancer: An evening of resources, support and connection

Cancer can take a toll physically. It can also shake up your emotions, relationships, spiritual beliefs, finances and more. Providence Regional Cancer System invites you to a free information session to help you cope with the many aspects of cancer. Cobie Whitten, PhD, has extensive experience working with cancer patients. As the session leader, she’ll provide information, resources and support for people at all points along the cancer journey. Cancer Transitions Program

Funded by a LIVESTRONG grant, this free six-week series is for people who are in the transitional period after completing cancer treatment. The program will feature support groups, education and individualized exercise, and address nutrition, medical management and quality of life issues. Receive practical tools and resources to create a personal action plan for survivorship. Thanks to a partnership with South Sound YMCA, facilitators trained to work with cancer patients will direct the exercise segment. View Flyer >>

Nutrition for Cancer Patients

Are there certain foods I should eat or avoid? To find out the answer to this and other questions, and to learn helpful eating tips while undergoing cancer treatment, come to this informative class!

There can be many nutritional obstacles for a person with cancer, including loss of appetite, nausea and alterations in taste. This free informational class can provide nutritional tips to get your system through this challenging time. The class is valuable for family members and caregivers and will be taught by Libby Mullins, a Registered Dietician. View Flyer >>

Yoga for the Cancer Journey

Come and learn how yoga can help you to create, stimulate and maintain an optimum state of physican and emotional health.

Cancer survivor and certified yoga instructor Maureen Oar, RYT has met all the educational requirements needed to be registered with the National Yoga Alliance and has pursued additional studies in the therapeutic applications of yoga. This class is created to meet the needs of any level of health and fitness and to support you in modifying your practice appropriately.
